  • The Habistat Mat Stat thermostat is the safe and efficient way to regulate heat in your heat mats, up to 300 watts.

  • Please note - it should NOT be used to run lights or ceramic heaters due to a fundamental incompatibility (alternatively, you could use an on/off or a dimming thermostat up to 600w for this purpose).

  • The Habistat Mat Stat uses a remote probe (on a long lead - approx 55") to monitor the temperature in your reptile's enclosure. The temperature at the probe is compared to the temperature set on the thermostat dial and then a signal is sent to the heat mat to either increase or decrease the intensity of the heat output. A steady temperature is maintained with little or no manual input from you. It is still recommended as good practice to include manual temperature checks using a digital thermometer each day.
